It looks like the anode/grounding plate on a 1996 Marlin 30 is in a bad place. It seems that most dry storage racks are about 30-36" wide, and that is right where the anode is. Mine was in REALLY bad shape, when we got it earlier in the summer, and now it is about gone after a summer of going in and out of dry storage.

It is only a few inches further towards the center than the starboard transducer. Other than having to patch the holes, is there any reason not to reinstall it straight behind the transducer? It would be outside the forklift/dry storage "danger zone," according to the guys that run the lifts. And, it seems that it would be further away from the engine, so it shouldn't cause any turbulence problems for the props. Is there anything that I am not considering that I should be? (See pictures below.)

Thanks for your help!

Here is all that is left of the grounding plate.

It is only a foot or so behind the transducer recess.

And, it is only a few inches to the inside of the transducer.
