I have an offer on a 2001 26 Grady Islander. The fresh water system has a leak in the hull When the system switch is turned on I can hear the system start to pressurize, then I can here it spraying out into the hull on the port side. It sound like it is somewhere behind he frig. Does anyone know if the pressure pump is located in this area?

Also, being a southern boat there is no water heater installed. I will be bringing the boat up to New England and would like to have the option of hot water. Does anyone know what type of heater Grady used in this model? And what the Charge for this type of install might cost.

Thanks to all who can help. I made what I hope is my final offer today.

Thanks, Vince

Grady used soft wall hose on barbed fittings with stainless hose clamps. My 2002 Grady had a couple clamps that were loose when I bought it. Go to where the spraying noise is with a 5/16” socket and or a flat head screw driver. Tighten the clamps. Not too tight if you use the socket. All clamps should be accessible. Grady is good about that. It just takes patience.

The optional water heater was 6 gallons and AC voltage only. Therefore you could use it only at the dock if you have the shore power option( also was an option) on the boat and dockside power available. I don't know if Grady installed the plumbing for hot water in every hull regardless of the options. You would need to add hot/cold fixtures, wiring, plumbing, plumbing and of course the heater. I would think that the cost would be steep if the plumbing and pre-wiring isn't in place. The water heaters (not through Grady) run about $300. If your galley sink has both hot and cold faucets knobs already, I might suspect that the plumbing was also installed.
I think the water heated was mounted in the forward section of the cabin. Wherever it would be, it would help a lot to open up the access and see if there is plumbing.

you should be able to track down the leak easy enough. as stated usually a connection or at the faucet itself.
to be honest, prob not worth the hassle to install a HWH. Just my 2 pennies.
