im tired of the stupid AI posts in the facebook groups im in. I am starting a GW owners group on FB that wont have AI. id like to see if a couple of you can join and post and see if any AI posts start to pop up. i went through the tools and dont see anything indicating that AI is turned on, so hopefully its good to go. once we get a few posts ill try to spread it a bit more.

Good idea!
Almost all Italian FB groups i am in are totally wasted by AI or publicity posts as owner/moderators don't care anymore and open the group to everyone and/or don't moderate.
Handle that but be prepared for a lot of work to keep BS posts under control.

I agree, the Facebook thing is just unmanageable, it seems. There is just so much fake crap and people posting non-relevant stuff, it gets hard to digest. I do wish you luck, but don't let it eat you up and make you mean. :)

I have a Long Island Grady White Owners FB page that I started. I have about 330 members. I was able to disable AI so there are no automatically generated posts. I'm always looking for more members so feel free to join if you'd like.
Its the T-Shirt sales posts you gotta watch out for lol.

Don't waste your time. All the Facebook jabber is real lightweight and not very interesting. Lots of silly repair or general questions from people that shouldn't even own a boat! Given all the FakeBook posts (giant fish, fake news political stories, etc) it's become useless to me.

Facebook is a terrible place to post a troubleshooting thread. Almost impossible to get back to the original post. Stupid responses. Lost in a FB prioritized "most relevant" list of comments.

So explain to me what an AI FaceBook post looks like.

GG forum has been a great place to discuss things and get real help. But I sometimes wonder if GG hasn't been recently invaded. Look at top 10 recent posts in General and Tips. Seeing lots of simple posts with OP's that have no history and/or inactive for years or new members. Suspicious. I like a good puzzle but lately it hasn't been all that interesting.

Yep!
I just had the experience on the Victron Facebook group where i got about 30 cryptic answers instead of one telling me what to do.
Same on the Honda Marine page where keyboard heroes badmouth about Honda telling that other brands are superior not even knowing the new Honda BF350.

However, if a FB group is moderated well and strictly it keep that under control, but it's a lot of work.

So this appears to be an AI response to a GG post "Where is the ground?".

Arish12: Where is the Ground? is a powerful question that resonates on multiple levels—both literal and metaphorical. On one hand, it may refer to a search for stability, a place to land, or a foundation to stand on. On the other, it can symbolize moments in life where we feel lost, disconnected, or unsure of our footing. Whether we're navigating personal challenges or seeking clarity in a chaotic world, the question invites reflection. Sometimes, finding the ground means grounding ourselves—through nature, relationships, or purpose. It’s a prompt to look inward and rediscover what truly holds

Looking at Arish12's response to this thread on boat grounds you have to believe AI has invaded Great Grady! AI misunderstood the context of "ground". This BOT joined May 27, 2025. Didn't post anything until July 27, 2025.
