Looking to order a Freedom 235. Worried about trolling slow enough for salmon and walleye and swim platforms are on each side. Is a kicker an option or will it troll slow enough like 1.6-2. Comes with 300hp Yamaha.

There’s different types of kicker brackets you can find to attach onto a swim platform. Many people prefer a kicker so hours aren’t racked up on the main engine too, in addition to better control at trolling speed. If possible, you would want fuel line linked from main tanks, steering controls linked to turn with the main engine, and kicker engine controls to the console
