New Freedom 275 Owner

just traded my 2006 GW Gulfstream 232 for a 2025 275 Freedom w/200yams and a joystick. love the engine package, hate the big loss in storage and fish boxes, but wife and kids love it. biggest issue so far os keeping boat level when open plane, seems to till from side to side with very little operator input. only second week with boat so might be operator error in understanding trim and tabs relationship. plains faster and milage about the same as old boat with twin 150 yams. access hatches for seacocks in poor and is placement of some controls, i.e.plug for phone charger socket on top of a cupholder.
will post updates.
Be safe,
J
The hulls for the 270/and 275 are the same. Your experience is a common complaint, but the good news is the fix is free. For lack of a better term, the "sweet" spot for stability on this hull is smaller and requires the right engine trim angle to keep it there. Trimming up is typically the solution. Once you find this, then consider tabbing as necessary, but be aware that it is more sensitive.
Every design is a compromise on performance. If it's any consolation, when properly trimmed and tabbed in a head sea, this hull should provide a noticeable improvement in ride over the 232.

New to the forum. Just placed an order for a Freedom 275… our first Grady. We boat along the Delaware/Maryland coast, mainly recreational boating in the bay and inshore fishing. May go offshore once a season. Usually 2-4 people on board, rarely 6-8.

I decided to order the boat with digital 150’s (saved $10K)... performance figures looked similar to 200’s and think it will satisfy our needs.

I would appreciate any feedback from 275 owners with 150’s. Satisfied? Regret your decision?

Thank you!
I purchased a 2022 Freedom 275 with 200s last year. This is my first GW boat, I love the design of the freedom boats. Great for family cruising as well as fishing. I go offshore in Gulf and the boat handles waves great. Trim tabs work great to correct any list you may have from weight distribution or people shifting and changing position while underway. I can't speak for the 150's, I know you will be very happy with the boat. Top speed on my boat from actual running of it with full fuel and water I top out around 50 mph so not much difference from 46 mph you quoted. Bottom paint will change that estimate, I have mine on boat lift so do not have anti-foul bottom paint. Enjoy your new boat!
