Hey Germanmatlanta,
I recently replaced the fuel tank, including all the hoses and fittings, on my Seafarer 228. In your picture of the fuel sender (see below) I do not see an anti-siphon valve attached to the brass elbow going to the fuel pick-up. Was there one on the OEM install? There was on one mine (see pic).
My service advisor informed me that having one is a USCG requirement. § 183.568 Anti-siphon protection. I'm sure this reply will generate lots of discussion.
