We purchased a very clean 208 this past season. Spent some time reinforcing the vinyl covered helm station under the hinge and latch area, but want a better solution with more room for electronics.
Planning off-season to build a new helm station/electronics box for our '97 208. Maybe something using mahogany/teak or lexan/starboard or lofting somthing up. Maybe removing the existing and using it as a 'plug' for a mold to build from. Don't want something as big or tall as the later models, blocks too much vision for shorter people on the helm(wifey).
Didn't find anything with searchs in here, so asking if anyone has replaced the 97-99 vintage 208 old style consoles?
