Hey Guys and Gals. New member here. Had a Sea Ray 450 Da for 9 years and because of health issues decided to downsize. Very interested in the 280 Marlin. Going to be looking around the site a lot over the next few months. Hope that is ok? Thanks for having me. JC

Welcome.

280 Marlin is an old school boat. Not familiar with it. Is that the predecessor to the 282 Sailfish and then Grady jumped to the 30 Marlin? I need to do some studying on that one.

KY Grady, the 280 was apparently the predecessor to the 30 Marlin now. I think? BTW, I am located about an hour and a half or so south of you. SE Ky. Kept my SR 450 in Key Largo for many years. Miss it. Plan is to take new to us boat back through the Bahamas next Summer. We last spent 6 weeks there in 2010 so we are really looking forward to seeing the Exumas again. JC

Where are you located?
Sounds like a cool trip. Any damage in the Exumas from Dorian?

As far as I can tell the Exumas suffered no or very little. The pictures of the Abacos are heartbreaking. I have never been through the Abacos but many off my old slip neighbors had and they loved it. We have been to the Bahamas in 2005, 2006,2007 and lastly 2010. First trip was in a Glacier Bay 2685. I am located in Bell County and now mostly in Key Largo.

The 30 marlin is basically the same boat as the earlier 28. It's been refreshed 3X over the years. Search the threads to learn more.

Thank you guys for the welcome. I really appreciate it. JC

Welcome and looking forward to pictures and stories of the new adventure!
