Hey everyone,

Purchased a new to me 2007 226 towards the end of the season last year and was looking for some tips on rod holders for long lines. We fish the Great Lakes for Salmon and Steelhead. I fish down riggers, dipsy divers and planer boards in the spring and add copper and lead core lines later in the season. I used what's called "Bird Trees" on my old boat and really liked how they worked however I didn't see how to manage the same fit on the GW until taking out a few friends. I mounted a track for my dipsy rods and didn't want the bird trees in the same track as they would feel crammed for space. The gunwale just forward the tracks is on a compound angle (Am I typing that right?) with 6 degrees from front to back and 5 degrees out (I'm sure so water runs off instead of in). I had Great Lakes Rod Holders (Michigan) weld me the stands on the proper angles and was then able to use my old trees. Banged up on the Coho the last 4 trips out and they are perfect in placement.

Yes.....That's SNOW.....
