Hey guys, since I'm replacing all the throttle/shifter cables on my rig, I am also going to get a new shifter. Boat has twin Johnson 150's with trim.

Maybe dumb question, but I've never had to buy one of these before. Should I look for anything special? Any good/new technology or products I should look at? Or, will any decent twin shifter with trim buttons work fine?

Thanks so much.

John

check out Seastar Solutions CH7842P ,I am in the process of installing it on my 88 Sailfish with twin 200 johnsons, could can pick one up online for about $400.

Thanks very much. Question: I was looking at this unit from Doug Russell on eBay. (OMC BRP Johnson/Evinrude Dual Engine Binnacle Mount Control Assembly 5006184) and when I asked them if it would work with my rig, they said I need two "adapter kits" for $20 each.

Do you know if the Seastar you mention needs these as well? The Seastar is a couple hundred bucks cheaper than the one at Doug Russell.

Also, another dumb question, if my throttle only has one button that both trims the motor and tilts it out of the water, I assume I only need the new throttle with the "trim" feature, not "trim and tilt."

thanks,

John

don't need anything else with the Seastar. I havent put it on yet but your right , that's how the OMC binnacle works so it should work like that also since it is wired to do that already.

Great, thanks. I ordered the Seastar.
