I have an 84 Offshore. It has a couple soft spots I wand to look at repairing. One is the section of decking right below the steering wheel and the foot step. The section of deck is soft between the fish locker up to where it meets the center hatch.

The other area is on the port side from the side of the hull out 6 inches or so and is around 10 inches in length. The soft spot is located about 18 inches forward of the aft hatches. Are these problems that could be cut out and replaced.

Any ideas or past experiences

Thanks
J

Pull up the center deck, remove caulking and then replace the wood that supports the deck. The deck may need to be recored as well. Usually the support goes before the deck itself. Rough estimate for the one side is around $700-800. If a yard does it, it would probably be around a grand for both fixes, but the job could be done yourself if you have worked with glass before. Ask Jimmy from Jimmy's Marine Service, he's done this work first hand and does great work.
