I'm learning ....silly me, I thought the oil injection pump was a part of the tankage plumbing. Now I understand that it is a part of the outboard engine assembly.(which makes sense). I came accross this article which may be of interest to someone.
I have a 94 175 Johnson. I installed a new VRO pump 2 years ago because the original was leaking oil by when the boat sat unused for awhile. The over rich mix would make it hard to start the first time, but once it cleared out it was fine. Other than that I have not had any problems.
Hmmmm I have an old 23 proline with a 88 225hp johnson that has the VRO unhooked. The tank is still there, wonder how hard it would be to hook it all back up. You cant beat not having to pre mix. Oh well I am just selling it anyway.
