I need a new 16 inch wiper for my 228.
Can I just get one from an auto store or do I have to get the whole bracket assembly?
Advice is always appreciated.
 
I imagine that when you say the "wiper", you're referring to the rubber windshield wiper blade? As I can't imagine the metal wiper arm is anywhere near 16" long. If you're just referring to the former... as long as the wiper arm isn't bent or has any serious issues, just replace the wiper blade itself and call it a day. If you're referring to the latter, I imagine local auto parts stores aren't going to have anything like that in stock, though you might get lucky if you've got a local marine shop, or you could check online, etc.

You should be able to take the wiper blade into just about any auto parts store and have them find you a replacement. Or you could even pop off the entire wiper arm as well, if you need to do it that way and take it into them.
 
Following as i have same need for my 306 Canyon.
First i need to know how to pop the whole arm of the wiper and then see if i can get only the rubber blade.
I fear it's difficult to find here as i see in car part shops only whole arm for cars what would not fit the GW wiper.
I anyone knows a online source for rubber blades what fit the wiper arm it would be of great help.

I have not been able to find just the rubber insert. My local NAPA was able to order one for me (Chris...see link below), but it was the wrong width. The one from NAPA was 8 MM and the blade on my boat is 6 MM.

I just ordered these. I will report back if they fit/work.

If I remember correctly, there is a small level/tab where the arm meets the wiper that gets depressed/lifted to allow for the full blade to be removed.

i checked and it seems i can order them thru Amazon USA and they ship to Italy.
Doing a deeper search i may find a European Amazon shop or another dealer who has them.
