Hello Grady-White Owners- (newbie to the forum here)

I'm boat shopping and I really like the GW Tournament 225 (looking at 2003-2008 models). My only hesitation is that with my Great Lakes fishing I utilize a bow mount trolling motor a lot. I've scoured the historical posts and it seems about 4:1 opinion that a bow mount would not work for a 225 due to the height of the bow.

I've seen a few posts where they've been added to a 222 or a 208 (which I believe also have tall bow heights). With the Terrova 72" shaft motor I'm hopeful that it would work but am looking for any data that others have regarding the bow to waterline height.

For example, 2 boats ago I had a fairly tall Bayliner that I added a 60" terrova to, and worked very well. It was about 42" from bow (including +2 inch mounting plate to the waterline) and it worked well in Lake Erie waves as high as 2-3 feet. Also 80# thrust pulled well and it was a 4,000lb, 23ft boat very similar to the GW 225.

Thanks for your help!
