I ran out of Oregon Inlet today, 10 minutes down the beach the Talica 16 with a Stretch 25 chirped a little drag and quickly netted a 34" Cobia, not a bad start.

I once gaffed a 42 lb that was absolutely green. The fish was hooked boat side on light tackle and it refused to run or fight at all. After a couple of minutes of boredom, I stuck it with the gaff and dropped it into an open 200-quart cooler. Even with me sitting on the lid, the thing ripped the hinges off and got into the cockpit where it proceeded to destroy everything. I can't imagine what a 80 lb cobia could do.
