i love my grady 282 but there is not much space to slip by the 2 pompanette chairs when going below.

Also, the armrests grab anything they touch including shirts and will jerk u back something quick and tear whatever u have on if u have to quickly go down to cockpit for a fish on etc.

I don't believe u can adjust the pompanette chairs sideways (at least i cannot figure out how to do it).

Anybody have any suggestions to make going back and forth easier? :(

You could have armrest covers made out of a material that won't pull and grab; maybe a tight-weave nylon. You could remover the armrests, or you could remove the pedestal base mounting screws on the under side of the seat, and re-position the seats farther apart a haft inch or so. Re-drill the the pompanette and reinstall the screws.

If the seats are a little farther apart, it might not be noticeable or feel awkward when sitting at the helm.

Anybody else?

I don't know if its possible but the companion seat allows much more room and also better seating.

good idea.....maybe i will toss the 2nd chair in favor of the companion seat.....i wonder if the dealer can do the install...

That Pursuit is more express that walk around so they have more room to work with but yes it looks more modern.

Didn't the <1990 versions have the door in the middle?
