The boatyard winterized my boat. Now I am in the water on a mooring trying to get the water system to hold a prime. Its not easy. I can draw water up to the pump from the tank (pump input hose disconnected with hand-pump on it) but by the time I reconnect to the electric pump, its lost its prime and I'm back to ground zero.

Any tips?

providing the pump is working properly, check the small screen filter right before the pump as they will get clogged from time to time.

The pump should be able to prime itself. In addition to the above, check to see that the vent line has no low spots where water could collect and that the vent is clear. No air in means no water out.

under guidance from the boatyard mechanic - I hooked a hose up to the fill on the boat and blasted it....water made thru the filled tank to the pump. I then hooked up in/out of pump and turned her on....all set.

Thanks all
