ok I have the Norcal Stock Fridge on my 2001 265. Its been working good on shorepower, last saturday night I left the battery switchs on overnight, then on Sunday I turned them off. Yesterday when I went to the boat, the fridge was off? So I checked some things out and now the fridge ONLY GOs ON with I turn on the stb battery switch?? (its the side with the two batterys) I turn off the switchs and the fridge goes off, turn on the switchs to the batterys and the fridge goes on? What am I doing wrong? Or what happened? I thought the fridge was on shorepower only? Any help would be great, thanks. (warm beer is no fun)

Jim,
It is a 12volt fridge and runs of the starboard "house" batteries.
When on show power, I believe the charger has a built in power supply that provides power to the fridge, either that or it just feeds a charge to the batteries.
No worries, the way you described is how it should work.
I use two duel purpose, starting/house batteries for the starboard side.

thanks, but why was the fridge working with just the shore power on? Could it be that the batterys are low or the charger is not working right when I turn the switchs off? I would like to keep the fridge on all the time, but I don't like leaving the switchs on when I leave the boat?

Jim,
I will take a look at the wiring diagram today and get back to you.
I leave my batteries "on" so I am not sure.

ok thanks, I thought the manual says that the fridge will only work with the shorepower plugged in and will not work off the batterys after the shorepower is unplugged. Thats what has be wondering whats going on as it was working fine without the batters and now will NOT work unless I have the stb (2 batters) set bank on?? Is it ok to leave the batterys switchs on if you have a full time charger on?

Okay,
I took a look at the manual and wiring diagrams.
Your fridge is a 12volt DC fridge and runs off of the starboard house set up.
Your boat does not need to be plugged into shore power for the fridge to work. (It is just like mine)
With fresh batteries, the fridge lasts about 3 days.
I keep my fridge on ALL season (one needs to keep the beer cold! )
I keep the starboard selector to "1" and the port selector to "2"
This has worked fine without any issues.
Shore power keeps the batteries nice and topped off!

Thanks! I will do as you say and see how it works out. I still don't understand why it was working fine off just the shorepower for weeks and now it does not? Again Thanks Tim!
