Just got the fuel issue cleared up with my 2004 Tournament 225 thats powered with a yamaha 225. The mechanic put a 15 1/4 x 15" aluminum prop on. running 31 mph WOT, I KNOW i should be getting more, should i get a yamaha sws 15 1/2x 17 , stainless steel? any help with the prop would be appreciated.I also saw there is a SDS(?) kit? Is there a website thats really good for props? Really appreciate any and all feedback, thanks!

Ken at PropGods is really good. That's who I consulted when I went 4 blade. I can run a consistent 40-41 @ 6000 rpm, our hulls are the same, I've just got a little more on top. 17P seems to be the standard pitch in a 3 blade, so you are pitched low, need to come up. My 4 blade is a 16P, but you drop down one when going to 4 blades from 3. What RPM's are you turning at WOT with the 15P? Are you 4stroke or the OX version of 225? The aluminum prop is going to flex more than SS, unless you are in shallow water a lot with rocks, our Grady's do better with SS, they're heavy girls!

With a 15P, your probably turning more RPM than 6100, the rev limiter is protecting it. At the very least, you need to get into a 3 blade 17P prop.

The 4 blade gives you more stern lift from hole shot, lower on plane speed, great bite in turns, great handling in following seas. For me, the 4 blade helps overcome the lack of umph from the 225 over the 250. I've been very happy with my 4 blade.
