do you have any specs and performance numbers for the boat with the current prop?
if you are starting from scratch, see if you can find a performance bulletin for the boat & motor combo. lots for yamaha, not sure about evinrude though. another option is to call ken at prop gods.

14 3/4 x17 pitch viper. Got motor used runs great but maybe I’m crazy but The boat does not maneuver well especially in reverse. Wot is 5200 rpm 36 mph.
Can anyone with 200 hp 2 stroke w 22 seafarer share there prop pitch diameter

5200 rmp at WOT seems on the low side, but im not sure what it should be for that motor.
is your motor on a bracket? sometimes it helps to trim up when in reverse so the prop wash doesnt just bounce off the transom.
