Anyone running a 228G Seafarer (mine is a '94) with a 225 Optimax? I'm repowering mine now, upgrading from a '94 V-200 Merc carb motor. My 17p aluminum prop gave me WOT at 6100 rpm, and the 19p mirage s/s gave me 4900 rpm at WOT. The dealer thinks that the 19p will be perfect when I hang the 225 Opti on back. Any thoughts? :hmm

I have one and it came with the 19p mirage. Seems like the right size on the 225 opti for my 228G.

I would also look at the enertia prop from mercury, but do your homework on it because you will have to go down a pitch size do to it being more efficient,go to mercury website.

What Diameter Prop is That, I have a 15 1/4 by 17 Mirage on my 92 Explorer with a 250 Merc EFI on the bracket. It spins @ 5800 with just me and 5500 with 3 of us plus gear, tried to go to the 15 x 19 and the boat the boat takes forever to plane, might have been faster top end but not really noticable. Was considering maybe smaller diameter with 19 pitch would put less drag and let the motor build RPMS quicker. Not sure how diameter affects the equation here.
