Purchase of a 2027 Fisherman 215

Hello, we will be purchasing our first GW 215. Our question is about the engine and electronics.

1. Will a yamaha F 200 be a good match or should it be the F250?

2. What is the best model garmin gos and vhf for that radio?

3. Are there any optional features suggested.

I ordered a 215 in 2024 with a F250 DES (digital steering). It was the perfect engine for the boat. Outstanding holeshot and ~50mph wot. The DES eliminates “prop torque steering difficulty” which makes the boat easily handled by your first mate.
You also get FOB’s since starting is by push button among other nice features such as cruise control which I didn’t think I would use much but ended up very useful in no wake zones and making slight throttle adjustments without touching the throttle.
I installed a 12” Garmin Echomap with a SideVu and ClearVu transducer. went with a handheld VHF since my offshore days are over.
You’ll particularly like the rear seating configuration. Very comfortable without eating cockpit room and swivel out of the way when ladder access is needed. We loved the boat but sold it when we moved off the water.
