Does anyone know if the joint on the end of the push rod for the seacocks on a Marlin are replaceable or does the rod come as a unit? Mine rusted off and it is a long reach down to the seacocks.

hey, i just replaced both of mine. I called grady. they provided the part numbers and brand names for my boat. it was a pretty easy job and ended up with a new style that looks better.

Dale1, did the fitting screw on to the rod?

I have 4 that I'll replace soon, just wondering if I can match them locally.

Dale, do you still have the part # or where you found? I was able to source a few years ago from a local autobody shop that has since changed hands and they no longer carry - no sure what its called but it some kind of ball joint. They do get rusty but you can unscrew them and replace. The original ones and the replacement ones that I found were not stainless - thus the rusting issue.

I contacted Grady White and they told me thmarine manufactured them for Grady White. I contacted thmarine and ordered 4 new rod assemblies. I will take the old ones and try to replace the working end and keep them as spare.

I replaced both of mine a few years back. I got them from a local grady dealer. The old ones were completely rusted out. The newer ones were a complete unit, however just slightly different. Since I had the back deck open anyway it was a simple swap out.

I went through this on my 265 last year when the linkages finally rusted through and broke apart. The joint on mine is a separate, threaded on part - took a bit of heat and some work to get them off but once clear the rods polished up nice and I ended up ordering a pair of stainless quick disconnect ball joints from Midwest Control Products, part number SQI312 (thread size 5/16-24 on mine), cost me about $32 with shipping for the pair and they're a direct replacement part. Good luck.

I'm looking to install the extension arms on my 2000 265 express. Does anyone had any pictures of the completed installation, and where the bracket attaches to the bulkhead? Greatly appreciated.

I need to replace the rods in my 283 Release. they are buried deep in the forward bilge. Not easy to reach............ugh
