I'm pretty sure you can't. If I remember correctly the 302 Ford used an OMC sterndrive setup. Has a different housing than your merc. setup. Best bet is to get a 305 in there or 350 if it will fit. Not sure on what year you're boat is, but the drive will work not sure how the inner housing on the I6 is setup. Google search it, if it has the normal two rear mount coupler setup with 1/2" bolts you should be ok.
