We fish as well as visit the boat beach with friends. My last boat (GW265) had a nice wide ladder with a platform and handholds on each side. New to me boat is a 2015 Canyon 283. The 283 has a very slim ladder STBD and only one hand hold. My wife and I are up in age. Any mods or ideas to make it more user friendly? I was looking at gunnel ladders to throw over the side... anyone with a Canyon have the same issue?

Thanks in advance!

The hook over gunnel ladders if not custom fit can be a bear to use. They tend to swing in towards the hull and that makes the ladder slanted in at the bottom. When standing on a step, you are angled backwards, If you have combing pads, the ladder has nothing solid to rest against inside the hull. I had a similar situation on a previous boat and never came up with a solution. What would be nice is a railing that could be snapped in place when needed.
This pontoon ladder has two upper railings but it may not clear the motor. It would have to be custom installed which might be a challenge.
note that the price is in Hong Kong dollars, not US$

Thank you both,

Looking at that, the only option i see so far is going into the fish box but it is double lined and getting 2 bolts up in between there would be challenging if not impossible

If you have a rod holder near the ladder there are hand rails that fit in a rod holder.
Also, if you don’t have access to tighten a nut a surface mount rail may be stout enough.

I assume your canyon transom ladder is similar to my 305. With the telescoping ladder and transom door. I actually much prefer this setup to what I had on my 265. Are you looking for an additional handle on the left side going up? As there is a nicely placed handle on the top of the ladder and on the gunnel/euro transom. Maybe one of those suction cup handles for showers? Not sure how strong it would be though.

Anywhere to add another hand rail to help?
This!

I was diving on my own Panga and on other boats with a over the gunnel ladder and honestly it was a huge PITA as boat leans over when climbing up and so you too.
The 283 Canyon is for sure less tippy than a Panga, however it will still be a pita, just a bit less.
Have fabricate a Pool ladder like second handrail left side and it will solve your problem.
