Hey Guys,

I have a question regarding extending the Yamaha 3 year warranty. Between the time I made the deal on my boat and took delivery, Yamaha offered an extended warranty for an extra 2 years. (in other words a 5 year warranty). During the buying phase essentially this would mean that the dealer would fudge in an extra 250 somewhere to cover the cost from Yamaha.

My question is -as my deal was already completed, I've been offered the choice of paying $250 to get an extra 2 years of factory engine warranty, or a $500 credit at the Dealership towards service, or goods. Is an extra 2 years worth it on the Yamaha 4 Stroke 200?

Thanks!

Get the warranty! Paid off for me with F250 corrosion.

That corrosion issue is probably the biggest reason I'm leaning that way. Thanks for the reply.

The V-6 150 2 stroke I had on my last 208 was pretty bullet proof and I never had any repairs at all, so it was tempting to just take the $500.

I think the smarter move would be to extend though. Thanks again!
