Radar for 228G

I am planning on installing a Furano 1715 radar on my Grady 228G. Is this unit going to fit into the overhead electronics box and are there any wiring problems I should look out for? Also I have a combination Funano 7000 GPS and sounder and would like to tie this into the radar. Is this a plug and play operation or not?

It may fit in your overhead electronics box, it depends on the year of your GW. On my 2000 Gulfstream the 1715 would not fit in the overhead box. I believe the overhead boxes were made larger in 2001. I installed mine and it was a farily easy project. Just make sure you take the boat for a shake down and make the necessary screen adjustments prior to really needing the radar. Good luck.

Installing radar in 228g

My boat is a 2006 so the Furano 1715 may fit. I will have to get an accurate measurement for the 1715 and check it out. Thanks for the fit information.
