I have no T top on my 226 and I'm not happy with the location of my radio in the instrument box. I have a wide fish finder, so the only way that a radio will fit in the box is mounted turned on its side. This doesn't let me read the front panel of the radio without almost sticking my head in the box. It turns out that this is a PITA since I'm not always sure which channel I'm tunned to.

The mounting surfaces on top of the cabin seem very limited. Does anyone have a good solution as to where a radio might be mounted outside of the instrument box? It is a little Standard Horizon Eclipse and it is supposed to be water proof.

Is the radio one that is compatible with the S/H remote mic setup? If it is, move the radio to the cabin and mount the remote mic next to the cigarette lighter plug or the key switch.
