I recently bought a coiled hose to wash the deck of the boat. When I went to install it, I realized the fitting on the boat was a female piece and so was the hose end. Is there an adapter of do I need a different hose with a male adapter?

Never heard of a male-male hose, but I wouldn't discount such an animal. Your best bet is to change the boat bib to 'male' and not worry about it again ...

Someone must have changed the male fitting for reasons unknown.
You may try a short threaded brass or galvanized nipple from Home Depot to join the two female fittings.

unless you're running fresh water, I would get a bronze fitting at a marine store...not sure what the depot would have to handle salt water unless they have forespar material...thats good stuff too.
