Just curious and a bit superstitious :?

I know all about the various procedures/traditions that go with re-naming a boat. But what about having 2 boats with the same name?

Are there any superstitions, etc about using the name on my "old" boat on the "new" one at the same time until the old one sells? Neither is documented so thats not an issue.

Thanks

If your happy with the name, stick with it. I'm a little supertitious... but not about that. I've always kept the same name, boat after boat.

I think many charter boat owners do it too, when they replace or upgrade to a bigger/newer boat. That way they don't risk losing repeat customers.
I know many add the "II"... but plenty of them don't don't. If it doesn't sound right, leave it be.

As far as 2 boats at the same time - if it's only for a short time, I wouldn't care. My only concerns would be, if your actually using both boats, (1 at a time) would there be any conflicts with say... Sea-tow, Coastguard, your mmsi#, (for dsc), or insurance.
