I have an 05 282 with F225s with original SWS 15 1/4 x 17 props. It runs great and has plenty of hole shot but gets lousy fuel economy below about 4000 rpm. We run heavy (tuna) and in big water (pacific northwest) where efficiency and staying on plane at slower speeds would be helpful.

Have heard that 4 bladed props provide greater stern lift and will keep boat on plane easier, providing better following sea handling and increased fuel economy at slower speeds. Can anyone provide real world experience with 4 blades on this hull?

Also considering re-power to Suzuki or Etec Gen2s. These would provide newer technology, fly by wire controls and should provide better efficiency all around. If anyone has re-power data on this hull that would be helpful as well.

Thank you.

I got a price of about $38k for 200 or 250 Gen 2 Etec's complete and installed.

Can you provide some more details?

Did that include the digital gage(s) and props ready to run?
Also, was power steering included?

With the current boat show incentives including a seven year warranty the Gen2 is certainly a strong consideration.
