This has been done by a forum member with photos provided in a post. Can't remember who, so do a few searches or wait for them to show up and reply.
This was done by gman. Very nice job with a drainage system as well. Search his posts and I am sure you will find it...
There is a current topic going on in the Tips forum. It was posted by eppem and although he did not use a piano hinge, it was professionally done and he posted some great pictures.

FOUND THEM.what did you make the black rim from.I hinged my hatch with piano hinge,but would like to make a rim with drains .

I was able to find a sheet of rubber that I cut to size.The place had several different size and thickness. GW used small rubber strips that was used to elevate the hatch to make it even with the deck. The piece I used made for a perfect fit and raised the hatch perfectly level with the rest of the floor.
