Relocating batteries to bow?

Great thought, but I did check it and it had very little water in it. The bracket most definitely should provide flotation.

I just purchased a 2008 222 and was wondering if I'll have the same problem ?

I read this entire post and didn't realize until the end that you have a bracket on your 222 ?

Seems as if the boat/motor are preforming as advertised. What the OP wants to do is make it do something else. I'm thinking the net affect of moving the batteries will not justify what is required to to move 'em. Try smoothly increasing power as high as required, then smoothly backing it off when you get where you want to run. Or, put the tabs where where you will cruise, then power through the hole until you get there. It's a boat, if your passengers want a limo ride, well, you know ...

As stated earlier:

I realized this when test driving the 225 before I bought it, but accepted that, realizing the positives greatly out weighed the negatives. I'm merely just trying to improve it if possible.
