Working on 1987 yamaha 150 2 stroke engines.Had to rebuild my port engine over the winter. While reinstalling i took notice the oil injection lines are starting to get hard ans slightly brittle. Most of the lines are no longer available. Any idea what i can use to replace them?

Are you referring to the lines running from the external reservoir or the lines on the engine? I just repowered my 88 226 Seafarer with a 2001 Evinrude DI 250. I essentially went over everything before installing the outboard on my boat. One of the things I ended up doing was checking and replacing any worm-gear clamps with Oetiker (ear-style) clamps on fuel and oil lines. Thankfully, all of my preformed lines under the cowling were in nice shape.

I did end up replacing the feed and return lines from the reservoir as they were brittle from sun exposure over the years. I used Shields low permeation marine fuel hose type A-1, just make sure you are using the manufacturer specified ID for the hose. In my case it was 1/4 inch ID for the feed, 5/16 in ID for the return. If you need to replace the lines that are under the cowling with preformed bends, I suppose depending on how tight the bend needs to be, you could replace it with a piece of new hose, however you need to be careful of kinking the lines at the bend. Otherwise, I suppose some used parts from ebay might be an option. Regardless, I would definitely recommend getting the Oetiker style clamps for any fuel/oil connections however if you are in there. Here is a link for a good supplier for SS Oetiker clamps that I used.

If you are referring to the lines from the oil pump to the carbs, I found them on several web sites, just Google the part numbers ( Boats.net has the part numbers. That said, the oil is not under a lot of pressure and I would think that any oil rated hose of the correct size would do and be a lot less expensive than the yami part. Get the correct clamps, regulat tie wraps don't work well, especially for small diameter hoses.

It's the hoses from the pump to the carbs. I tried googling the part numbers and i found all but 3 of the hoses. I was thinking of using the yellow hose that weed wackers use for the fuel pickup

Lime you're right-on with weedwacker hose. Some Yam jetskis had problems with the oil hose failing and that's what guys were using instead of OEM. I had carbed 200HP Yams with the same setup. I think those little clamps are fine with the soft pliable hose you're using.
