Need to replace floor drain on a 89 overnighter. There are two acess plates I can barely reach the floor drain to replace it. This drain is just foward of passanger seat on the port side Any thoughts would be greatly appreaciated..

I had to replace that drain on my 89 Overnighter, too. I gained access by taking the whole drawer assembly out below the seat. It's doable but not easy.

Good luck.

Does this require cutting the deck under the tackle box drawer to access this drain ?

No, it's open in there. You can see the hose from the broken fitting and the one coming forward from the fish box where it tees into that line and then goes to the thru' hull fitting.

floor drain

I did mine in march, It can be done without any cutting of the hull/decks. I have the same year and model boat as you.

I did my port side fishbox/through hull/ floor drain all at the same time.
It might be easier to replace the port floor drain and the port side through hull together. I think I attached the floor drain to the hose + clamp and then fished it down through the inspection port and then slipped it onto the through hull fitting .

all you need to do is release the large nut from the bottom, the drain just unscrews from the top side. No need to remove the hose clamp.
