Replacing floor drains on a 282 Sailfish

Does anyone have pictures and/or instructions on replacing cockpit drains on a 2004 GW 282 Sailfish?

I did the port side hoses and drains by removing the live well and I cut in a doorway. Crawled through the cut out and was fairly easy. The starboard side I replaced when I had to have the transom replaced due to wet/rotting wood. I've seen where others have cut-in access covers on the starboard side. Good luck.

Depends a lot on the boat model and year. My port side would be like the above photo. Starboard side would require cutting an access port hole.

Just did all 4 this spring on my ‘02 282. Didn’t take any pics of progress. I did cut an access panel at both inside transom walls. I can take pics & add those next time I’m on the boat. A heat gun is the key to get hose off the thru hulls & don’t be scared to let it get hot!! I was able to drill out the floor drains with a hole saw. Not a fun or an easy job. I did all the prep solo until it was time to set the new deck drains, then I needed help due to the stiffness of the new scupper hoses.

Most you have to cut a hole or two. My glass guy wanted to go thru the hull itself and has done a few this way, I haven't done it yet because cutting the hull doesn't feel right!

Thank you for replying. I would like to see any pictures of the job. I don't want to create a mess by drilling in the wrong place. One respondent indicated that it's possible to access the port hoses by going through the battery switch compartment. Did you look at that? What size holes did you drill? Did you replace the through hole fitting or just the hoses and the floor drains? Thanks,

Thanks for replying. I have a 2004 282 Sailfish, the layout is different the livewell is behind the passenger seat, towards the front of the boat. I just had my transom replaced last week. they didn't need to go past the inner skin of the transom so there was no access.
