I would like to replace the old not working DC 440 refrigerator in my 2001 GW Marlin. Looking at dimensions the Norcold DC740 and the Isotherm Cruise 49 should both fit the cutout. Is either a simple direct replacement without extensive modification? Does anyone recommend one over the other? Thanks.

That is a great idea. I never use the stove. Thanks a bunch.

I believe the stock fridge ran on 12VDC, I'd prob look for the same input voltage. When connected to shore power it was charged via the battery charger. If you go with AC only, you'll need a genset when running. You could tap the stove wiring I guess...

The newer Isotherm Refrigerators are now AC/DC - they automatically switch when the boat is connected or disconnected from shore power.

I assume they have both an ac and dc input. There may not be a ac line to the fridge (GW was 12v only. Need to either tap the 120v stove or run a line.
The 12V systems run off the batteries that are charged when the boat is connected to shore power.
