I have 2019 300 Suzukis on my 265 express and there are flawless so far and fuel mileage went from 105 litres to the cabin to 65 litres to the cabin. I Cruz at 32 mph at 3800 and at 4300 I’m doing 38-40 mph and only burning tops 90 litres an hour. Flat out it does 51 mph at 6100rpm. The only con is I wanted the 350 dual props but my boat wouldn’t handle them.

I did a single 250 on my Voyager and it does me just fine. Are you sold on the twins ? The single might do everything you need. Also check your Coast Guard Plate for the HP Rating mine says good up to 350 HP

Ya don’t think a single will push a 265 express unless it’s a new 425 Yamaha and with the twin 225 Yamahas it wasn’t that good for cruz or for top speed to the fishing grounds. Ya the boat only says 500hp but there the same weight and the old motors and I have insurance no prob when I told them I’m 100hp over recommend. After the first season and 200 hours it’s the same as when they went on looks good no cracks or stress marks so far.

No experience with the 300s but my Suzuki 200s are great.
For comparison to Twin300s, I also have a 265. I cruise at 30-33 mph and max at 40 mph. Average NJ canyon trips burn 1.5 mpg, sometimes 1.6.
the 282 is same width but longer/ same weight/ less fuel. 200s would probably be about the same on her. 250s would be great. 300s you will see similar speeds and fuel burn as Twin300s. You'll get better fuel economy at 30-33 cruise. You'll hit 50mph...why?...idk...

lessons learned from switch from Yamaha;

Have them install Aux charging cables now while they are rigging. They probably didn't even ask you if you want them.

If you are using your existing steering, ask them if the motors will come out of water in full tilt. If not, ask if there is a way to do it by changing tie bar or the cylinder position.
Are you doing one or two steering cylinders on the 300s? You probably need two with 300s.

Don't stop testing props until its right. Test them real world out of an inlet on incoming tide not in a flat calm bay with 20 gallons in the tank.
Those motors will swing a huge prop. don't be shy. What you had on the Yamahas is meaningless.

They are probably replacing your dash panel. Lay it out the way YOU want it.
You'll have 2 gauges and a control panel.
I put the control buttons between the gauges. I really like it.
There is only one key.

I am thinking of using Danny’s Marine in MD, I have heard great things and they are the best price by far. Has anyone used them or know of them? Skunk boat who did you use?

I used Sherman's in Brick mainly because its close to me by road and by water. You will need to get the 20 hour service done by the dealer. Your boat is a wide load, are you going to trailer back & forth to MD? Is it that much cheaper? Are you going to be able to test and retest props until you get it right.
idk, I would want to be able to run the boat to the dealer.

You are in So Jersey. Chestnut Neck Boat Yard has been a Suzuki dealer forever. They are in Port Republic on the Mullica river... if thats close?

Make sure you have access to a certified dealer that you want to service your boat. Not enough service shops were authorized dealers in my area when I was looking to repower

You may want brand new but there is a pair of white 2019 Suzuki 300’s on The Hull Truth with 700 hours and warranty til 2025. For 30500. I would buy them but my brother the Yamaha tech is giving me a hard time and wife wants brand new Yamahas.
I’m kinda pissed cause I would rather save the 10 grand difference.

I had new 300 zukes on my 330 and she was a whole different boat than with the F225's. I can only imagine that on a 282, you'd be in Beast Mode!

What size props were you turning and were they 3 or 4 blade? Thanks
