I presently own a 1987 24 offshore with a 2003 HPDI. Owned her since 1990 and is a great boat. Thinking about a newer Sea vee2 hull in about the same size. Just wondering if I will see a big difference in ride characteristics as well as when anchored or drifting. Hate to part with her for the wrong reason. Any feedback on this is appreciated. THANKS

I have a mid 80s 22' Seafarer, and my brother-in-law has a 22' Seafarer that is only a few years old. We alternate which boat to go out on, and I have to honestly say, I don't detect much ( if any) difference. maybe if I ran both boats on the same day in the same water, it would show more.
Try to seatrial a newer model before committing to purchase. You may be surprised.

When I was contemplating my 1st Grady purchase, I sea-trialed a 20 Adventure(Pre-SV2) out of Saugatuck. I ultimately bought a 22 Seafarer that was a 92, the 1st SV2 made.
I didn't notice any difference either. Both rode well. Maybe I missed something?

Unless you are trying to get different options or a larger hull, I wouldn't imagine it would be worth it . Have you considered a Gulfstream with twins or one of the other newer models. If you are trying to get a better ride you would be amazed what a difference 2 or 3 feet in length will do. Selling my boat to buy the same size and style, the Admiral would kill me! Good luck and let us know what you decide.

No Problem is right..
I traded my 22 Seafarer for my current 2007 Gulfstream and the difference is way more than a SeaV2 Vs. a non-SeaV2 hull would be.
I was floored at the difference in ride. Makes me wonder what a Marlin would be in comparison; then I remember Megabytes told me bigger is always better.
