After springing a leak in my outdrive boot on my 1985 Overnighter20 I left the boat at the marina to have it replaced. Several days later they called to tell me that the wood in the transom was totally rotted. The engine will have to be pulled so a fiberglass company can remove the fiberglass and wood from the inside and then replace both. Anyone experience this before?

It happens all the time if you have a leak there. When the redo the transom make sure you tell them to coat the exposed wood from the outdrive hole with EPOXY resin with at least 3 coats.

Look at CGMiller, CDWOOD and VeroWings posts...they all had their transoms done...you can see the process and get a reference as to what it would cost
