Ive been having problems with my tach recently. My RPMs on the tach will change by almost 1200 rpms but I hear no difference in the sound (pitch) of the engine. I don't think I spun the hub cause I would hear the difference in the pitch. . The tach is a dial type Faria and was installed new in 2004 with the motor that is a 2003 yamaha F225. I pulled the instrument panel and the wires are clean, tight and dry. Any ideas on what can be wrong? How can I check if the gauge is going bad?
