Sad News, Kay Crocker passed away

Kay had an apparent heart attack while working in the business on Friday.
Funeral is Monday in Wilmington.

I didn't know him well, but recently purchased a Grady White from Newland. Kay actually delivered the boat. We talked about how much he enjoyed his grandchildren.

Kay was predeceased by his wife about 30 days ago.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Kay pioneered GW amd BW boating in the Wilmington area and later expanded to Morehead City and Georgetown, SC. He was a well respected businessman, active fisherman, and friend to all. He will be missed. Here is a link to the family guestbook.

I only met Kay once but was always impressed with the way he ran his business and the caliber of people he had on his team.

When I had the boat re-powered last year he sent me a hand written note letting me know he appreciated my business. What a classy guy. His family and co-workers are in my prayers.

I met Kay in the early 90's during one of the trips to Ocracoke and have considered him a friend ever since. He always had a kind word and seemed to really enjoy life. He will be greatly missed.
