For the first summer with my 07 Marlin we wernt quite sure where the downriggers would be ideally mounted, so I bought the Scotty Gimbal mounts for the downrigger bases, and experimented with the 4 different spots. Not recommended, but was a good experiment.

Now that the riggers are mounted, I took the scotty Gimbal mounts and put bamboo cutting boards on them. One a small bait station, and the other fits the Barbecue perfectly.

The barbecue has 1/4" screw holes for a mount sold seperately, so I drilled holes in the board to secure the Q to the mount, no slidey off into the water.

The small stows in the live well, and the big stows under the copilot gunwale.

I just did this since I had the gimbal mounts laying around. If your BBQ comes with a gimbal attachment by all means use it. Just thought I'd share!

Summer almost here!

Crap. Sorry for the file sizes, I'm on my phone. I'll redo next week at the office where I can resize easily :sorry

I like them. Why do you have the mounting screws that way? Wouldn't it be better if they were reversed?

The 1/4" bolts that hold the BBQ are underneath the unit.

The wood is held to the gimbal mount by four 1/4x1" stainless screws.

What you see are the two bolts poking up from the underside...
