Sea Star Power Assist Pump Install

I have an older Ray Marine Auto Pilot & pump coupled to the 1.7 Helm and dual slaves with liquid tie bar .....want to add a power assist pump .......anyone done this ? .........

I've replaced one but have not added one. As I recall the units are DC powered (just run the line and properly fuse and switch) and (4) hydraulic lines. You would need to add connections to existing lines or better yet run new lines. Two run to the wheel and two aft to the motors. There usually is a connection point in the boat, so you should be able to measure the line lengths you need and have them made up. Finally check the lines to the engines themselves. Some of the sea star are a black plastic and I had one burst. Lost steering. If not for twins it would have been more difficult getting back to port. I found lines here Seatech Marine Products . I shopped around for the pump and got it for around $1500 new from another place. Search for a thread on this. I recall doing one.
