Just wanted to share that with extreme fear and trepidation that I ended up doing my own install of the B175 1KW ducer on the 05 282 linked to a NSS12 Simrad. We went 35 miles off Beaufort inlet Wednesday last and fished 135 feet of water. Both the high chirp and 200 settings were absolutely awesome. I could literally see crevices with fish down in them. The bottom definition and fish delineation were flawless. I also held depth readings up to cruising speeds of better than 28 MPH. I was initially concerned doing the install myself with some tough decisions on placement and access due to intakes and stringers...but we ended up in a good spot fairly easy to access through the port rear bait hatch and battery switch hatch. Got many great tips from some folks here along with youtube University. Also have to thank Travis from Semper Fi Electronics...he answered more technical ? than the Airmar techs did. Picked up 24 triggers, bees, bass, pogeys, and some pretty( released )red snapper and red grouper. So glad I didn't settle for the smaller ducer.

The ducer is 42 inches from the outside rear transom forward and 22 inches from the port edge towards the center keel.

Thanks for the pictures. I'm always about trying to visualize what someone has done or about to do. I figured the more pictures posted the more it helps for everyone when looking into previous posts.

Congrats...I only have two bottom fishing trips under my belt but I could see fish in holes on the bottom around 150 feet... Love it.

Yes, I'll second Travis. He was supremely helpful when I outfitted my Mako with a Garmin set up with a similar xducer. Can't wait to stumble across the next 'extra' 10k to redo electronics on Marlette.
