Have a 2004 model. Using a newer Raymarine C95/97 system with a current transom hung transducer. We have 2 Yam 150's. Transducer blanks out at 17mph. Tried moving it closer to center line but ran out of cable and it's too close to the STBD engine causing it to cavitate on slight turns to STBD. Want to go with a shoot through, but not sure where in the bilge to put it. Looking at the P79 transducer model. Thoughts/experiences?

Assume you have the correct fluid level in the tank and it is properly mounted? Mine is on the flat area on the aft starboard side and works fine. Don't really have much more to add.

Thanks. Our last 2 boats were an '87 204 Overnighter and an '89 226 Seafarer. On both we simply used a big glob of silicone on the right side of the bilge and stuck the transducer in it. Worked great. Just did the same on the GS a few weeks ago and have had great results with the standard P58 transducer witch is designed to be transom mounted. Did find a P79 shoot through that's compatible with our 2014 Raymarine system, (last one in the US at an open box distributor) but I'll just hang onto it in case the P58 stops working.
