If you have a bow pulpit, do you use your Skene Bow Chocks? They are about AUD$90 a pair. I'm not sure I would use them.

Try perko brand. Shouldn’t be that expensive, your price seems high. might be a larger size than you’d need.

I added them to my 330 Express because otherwise the rode ran right over a pretty sharp edge. Later model years added them from the factory. I also considered adding a cleat on the pulpit which might have been a better option.

Here's what I used: https://www.defender.com/product.jsp?id=4500213 (4.5")
I am going to add a cleat for the anchor rope. The 232 has one factory fitted but not the 228.

Is that the 98 Bimini top for $91,990? Good luck with that.
Not my boat, I wish him luck as well.

I will add that the boat looked more like a 5 yo when I sold her rather than 23 and she was fitted with a new engine when I bought her .
Still $90k is a lot of coin for a 23 YO boat.

What do you use the Alene cleats for on a 330? They seem to be in an odd place

I use them all the time when I anchor my 305. The rode goes through it then gets tied off on the starboard bow cleat.

So I am guessing you use them to take the tension off the capsten/anchor hauler?

Skene chocks are used to divert the line away from things that may chafe the line and/or non-structural things like nav lights, etc.

A windlass' primary use is for lifting/lowering the anchor. In light conditions, it's fine to use the windlass to hold the boat. But otherwise, the line should always be brought to a cleat. Depending on the setup, there may be a cleat next to the windlass so the line can continue to be brought in through the anchor roller. Otherwise, the line should be brought around and through skene chocks to a bit/cleat (or directly to a side-mounted cleat.
