So, friend of mine, all gung ho to fish, calls last night and he is all, “we are going to be on the coast next month. Maybe you could grab my (his son) and meet us down there at the end of that week and we could go fishing...we would have the condo..”

He is a wonderful guy, but had to say no because a - boat is not here yet and not making plans till it is, and b - I do not need a condo, I have a floating hotel room...albeit a small one...lol

So, curious how many of you sleep / speend overnight on your boat?

I mean, if just me and the son, he is 9, so we might both fit on the bed or something.

Would like to figure out how to do a/c heh...and the boat is not going far till I test and inspect everything on it myself, heh, but....would seem a waste to not use that cabin;)

We (wife, daughter and Golden Retriver) do overnighters several times a season. 2 or 3 nights is my max. As you said it is still a small area.

Our 330 is pretty comfortable for the wife and me. We need to add fresh water about day 3, but we'll stop somewhere and refill the water tank. Anything smaller than, say a Marlin, might be a little tight for more than an night or two, at least for us.

done it with the fam but it is tight. on a couple of occasions we did 6 in the marlin. 2 (wife and eldest daughter) in the v-birth, 2 (son and daughter in the mid berth) and 2 lucky guys (eldest son and me) on the cockpit. We built a camper out of tarps (top and 3 sides). Used rod holders and boat hooks as poles along with binder clips and bungee cords to put it together. an air mattress and some liquid refreshments. worked fine but morning comes early... I don't think id be doing it with other than family though unless it was a 33 or bigger.

We are looking forward to a season of overnight cruising every wknd and longer trips this summer. 272 Sailfish. My wife and I in the v and my 2 young boys in the mid berth (age 6 and 3)

I do have a thin camping pad I can use for the cockpit if the 2 boys get too rambunctious!

Chris,
You have a good size boat for that. Enjoy now. When the kids get bigger, it get tighter. The biggest thing was storage. We used the dash extensively to store items when on the hook or docked. The WA boats is perfect for 2 as you can use the aft berth for storage, clothes and the like. It will teach you to pack light, be efficient and be patient!

I have a foldable cot for nice weather, but yea..not something I would do all the time or with more adults...unless THEY sleep on the cot lol.

I think I will look over the concept of an a/c for the rare times we might use it though. Anything to keep my wife more confortable so she has more fun thus we get to go more together, is well worth the time and money.

Kids sleep in the cabin and the wife and I out on the deck. If the wife and I go out we usually still use the deck unless it's cold out. 2 nights tops.
