My 282 loads and unloads pretty well, but I'd like it to be a little smoother. The carpet at the aft of a bunk is torn, so I'll be replacing it. The question is, should I recarpet both bunks or pull the carpet off all together and add slicks. The rule is to never unhook the bow until after the motors are running and always hook up the winch strap and safety chain before pulling the boat out. So, I'm not worried about the boat being launched ONTO the ramp :-|

I have a 232 on a bunk trailer with carpet and was having some trouble getting the boat off the trailer at some shallow ramps. I looked into buying the plastic slicks and thought they were to pricey. Bought a can of spray silicon ($6.00) at the hardware store and sprayed the carpet. I can't believe the difference it made.
