Hi, I am a writer for Soundings boating magazine. I am looking for an owner of a Grady-White who has recently done a significant refit of his vessel (transom, decks, engine, electronics, etc.). This is for a feature article for Soundings. Good photos of the refit process are a plus. Anyone out there with a good refit story to tell? Thanks. C.L.

I don't know how good it is, but I did a 4-stroke re-power ($25,000), dual custom fuel tank replacement ($4,000), new curtains ($1,200) new Raymarine C-Wide/radar/sounder electronics upgrade ($7,000). Plenty of pics. Nearly what I paid for the GW Sailfish new in 1986. The only "story" involves the fuel tank R&R and a construction anomaly, but nothing particularly out of the ordinary there as far as production boats go.

Get in touch with Vero wing, a member here, who did an amazing job on his Grady. Here is the thread on a different forum http://forums.bateau2.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=19949

Chris,
Here are some progress pictures of my restoration of a 1983 Grady White Tournment 20, with an inboard/outboard. I bought the boat off the internet for $800 and the goods folks at High and Dry Boatworks in Charleston, SC are helping with the restoration work (read: they are doing all the work and I am occasionally supervising via e-mail). I would love to have you feature the boat in your magazine so that I could use it as an excuse to push harder on the guys to finish. :D The estimated completion date was july 2010. :-|

Here's another update with the inside now painted. The interior will be Oyster White while the exterior will be Flag Blue.
